I like to restore things and make them look like new. I restore everything from tools, to kitchen ware, to furniture. If I find something that I find interesting I will probably restore it.
Restoring a Rusty Craftsman Vise
In this video I restore a rusty Craftsman swivel bench vise. The vise itself was pretty clean, but it sat outside for a long time. I cleaned off all of the rusty, re-oiled everything, and gave it a fresh new paint job. A fairly simple restoration, but it was quite satisfying seeing the end result.

Restoring a 1920's Griswold Cast Iron Griddle
In this video I restore a slant logo Griswold Model 746X No 9 cast iron griddle. It was really rusty and had leftover seasoning on it. I stripped off the old seasoning on it, then cleaned off the rust, and then I re-seasoned it. This was fun piece to restore. Restoring a Unique Anvil / Vise Combo Tool

This is an interesting Wards Master bench vise that also doubles as a small anvil. This was a fairly simple restoration that involved me cleaning it and repainting it, but it was still a fun one to do. After the clean up it worked perfectly. Restoring the WORST Multi Tool Ever Made
In this video I restored a multi tool that was made by Utica Cutlery Co. It was a fun restoration to do, but the multi tool itself was terrible. It has a little bit of everything, but all of it was bad. It has a little chisel, but it was too thin to be useful. It had a saw blade, but it was too thick to cut efficiently. It has a hammer attachment, but it's too light in weight to be effective. T...
Restoring the WEIRDEST Splitting Maul / Axe Ever Made
In this video I restore an Alltrade roller bearing assisted splitting maul. The general idea behind it is that the maul itself cracks the log, but the roller bearings help it slip along the long. This restoration didn't take much, but it was still fun to do. Restoring a Cast Iron Dutch Oven

In this video I restore a Wagner made Griswold mold cast iron dutch oven. The lid was in fairly good shape, but the pot itself had a lot of rust and old seasoning inside of it. It was stripped down, cleaned of the rust, and re-seasoned. In this video I restore an early hand forged brush axe that has a very interesting look to it. I was not able to find any others similar to it online and it looks to be a one of one. Restoring a Rusty Cast Iron Skillet

In this video I restore a rusty Lodge cast iron chef skillet. It had old seasoning on it and the bottom of it was all rusty. Restoring a FROZEN Jeweler's Hand Vise

In this video I restored a super crusty jeweler's hand vise. It was totally frozen when I got it and it was missing a spring. I completely stripped it apart and rebuilt it. Antique Civil War Era Hatchet Restoration
In this video I restore a super crusty civil war era hewing hatchet. I had a viewer send me this hatchet head and they found it metal detecting next to a civil war battlefield. It was not in good shape, but I was able to save it. It needed a fair bit of grinding/ reshaping, but I think it turned out pretty good considering what it looked like originally. Colton Jeweler's Vise Restoration (Patented June 16, 1885)
In this video I restore a Colton jewelers vise. The design for these was patented June 16, 1885 and they were made for a few years after that. They have a fairly unique design and as a result are fairly easy to recognize. This one wasn't too bad condition wise except for having a chip off the anvil. It also needed a screw and handle to allow it to be clamped to a workbench. Timestamps: 0:00 Sta...
Restoring a Rusty Hewing Axe
In this video I restore an antique European hewing axe. It is very large and boasts a cutting edge that is almost half a meter (1.5 ft) long. I decided to save the original handle that I got the axe with because I believe it is the original one from when the axe was made. I cleaned off all the rust, repaired the handle, sharpened the edge, and blued the head. Timestamps: 0:00 Start 0:25 Start o...
Antique Rusty Meat Cleaver Restoration
In this video I restore an old Briddell meat cleaver. I accidentally misaligned the scales during glue up so off camera it switched from a 3 pin design to a 4 pin one because I had to drill an additional hole. It wasn't too messed up, but the blade itself had a lot of rust on it. It came out of an old warehouse in Oakland, CA and it sat on a shelf for many years. I took it apart, removed the ru...
Restoring the WORLD'S WEIRDEST Pipe Cutter
In this video I restore a pipe cutter made by Beaver and it has got to be one of the most overbuilt pipe cutters I have ever seen. It has a built in bearing that allows it to turn very smoothly. It also has a very unique casting to it that looks beautiful on its own. It was frozen in a few spots when I found it, so i decided to take it apart and make it look like new. Might want to rename this video to; "Half-ass & Incomplete restoration"
So, the broken part was the gibs being missing?
I have a large one of these in need of a restoration. Not sure if I want to mess with it as the sliding to the rear mechanism doesn’t really make sense for a good bench vise. No clamping vertically.
Gostei
Im not trying to sound racist here or anything, but, Why isn’t your distilled white vinegar white?
Nice shop jacket😂
Excellence at it's finest. Well done my friend
Beware of armature compatibility problems! The new armatures do not fit in these old saws. The part number is obsolete.
Nice work
I've had one of these for over 25 years. Those two little wings broke a long time ago. Still the best splitter I've ever used. The head design is fantastic, even without the wings.
Where do I get one?
Great job
Awesome result but not very practical for most people. I'm not sure I know anyone that has lye baths, electrolysis setups, etc.. Fantastic result though.

Where do you get the lye from
Holy shit. That's a man spliter from head to crotch, lol. Loved to have seen this on the" Walking Dead". Well done Sir 👏
Great video I learned a lot. I think you need to cut up some old t-shirts for some new shop rags/towels! lol
Why don’t you paint the bottom like the rest of the machine? It looks like shit like that.
Nice workmanship 👍
What glue did you use for the handles please?
Nice video, but better with the sound off.
i love that the jaws came from the factory with cross hatching. i wonder if that was common or not. havent really noticed it on many or really any other post vice video on youtube. came out great man hope youve gotten great use of it in the years since this video was uploaded.
Does anybody have a manual or parts list for this vintage of saw?
Around $1,400 in fully restored condition on eBay
You've got yourself a fine plane now. Nice work!
👍👀👀🛠👍👍👍🖐
Good job!
Bad restoration is better than no restoration I think, but not by much. Sorry Bro, no primer coat and you left the rust on the bottom side and didn't even bother to paint it, and where you did paint it was uneven. Nice video. Big thumbs down on the restoration.
lmao wow, i just started taking mine apart and wanted some inspiration. Now i have a How To
What type of lye do I use?
Fantastic restoration! I use one of these saws constantly, and it brings joy to my heart seeing you restore a beat ol' saw to former glory. Great job
IM SO JEALOUS. $10 for a Bigfoot is a steal!
I like that you use a wood maul to drive the handles on, I see lots on UA-cam use steel hammers, 😮 not good for the handle ends.
Love the look and the handle and the grunge lookof the cleaver is beautiful 🤩! If you can spend an Hour sharping it, it will be a much sharper and better chopper blade.
Nifty!
It would be nice to know the vintage of that particular lodge skillet. The style of the logo and the three notches make me think it was old.
Use some Grease next time
So was this a carbon steel wok? I bought one on amazon but the inner center part where food is cooked has turned color. it is like the black coating has come off. Is it salvageable?
Scary grinder use
The handle is great but the blade is nasty and dirty yuck
